Rescue Survey

The Make Mine Chocolate! Rescue Survey Here at Make Mine Chocolate!™ we our working hard to spread the message that ‘Chocolate is a Treat, Rabbits are a Commitment’.

We are also working hard to increase the education and understanding of these wonderful creatures. One of the many tasks we have also undertaken is the creation and management of the Make Mine Chocolate!™ National Rabbit Rescue Survey.

The survey aims to provide accurate annual data covering the number of rabbits in rescue, their source, reasons for surrender etc. The survey starts in 2009 and will run continuously.

The survey is of vital importance; in order to force change we sadly have to show, with current data, just how bad the number of rabbits in rescue has become. We all know how bad the situation is but we urgently need the help and support of rabbit rescues in the UK to help show this.

Rabbit Rescues Large and Small - PLEASE HELP US! We would like all rescues taking in rabbits to be included in the Make Mine Chocolate!™ Rabbit Rescue Survey. Whether you rescue one rabbit or 100, we need your help.

The Rescue Survey

We’re surrounded by facts  and figures in our daily  lives, yet there are few  facts and figures about the  state of rabbit welfare in  the UK.   The only other rescue  survey carried out in past  years put the figure of  rabbits passing through  rescue each year at a  staggering 35,000.  But where do these rabbits  come from? Why are they  given up?   And more to the point,  how can we stop this  welfare crisis?
